Instagram has announced “Remix.” a TikTok Duet-like feature that allow users to create a new Reel video together with the existing one. This feature can be really helpful when you want to merge short videos together, and you can add some funny responses to it to. Here’s how to use the Instagram Reels Remix feature.
What Is Remix Reels on Instagram?
Accordin to the company, the Remix feature is activated only for new Reels by default. For a fact, you will have to enable remixing old videos manually if you want other creators too remix your old content. Now let’s get started.
Remix Instagram Reels
⦁ Sign in to your ccount and open an Instagram Reels video.
⦁ Tap on the vertical three dots menu at the top-right corner and choose Remix This Reel from the list of options that appear.
⦁ You now have access to Remix and record the response video or click on the file picker at the bottom left corner to use a prerecorded video.
⦁ You can edit the reels with Instagram’s set of tools.
⦁ When you’re done editing, tap on the “Next” button and publish it.
Activate Remixing for Previous Reels
Like I said earlier, you can’t remix old vidoes by default. You’ll have to manually enable it so that you or anyone can remix it. To do so, follow the steps below:
⦁ Open the Reel video you want to remix and click on the vertical three dots menu at the bottom right corner.
⦁ There oon, tap on Enable Remixing, and that’s all.
Disable Instagram Reels Remix
In case you don’t want others to remix your Instagram Reels, you can disable the feature. You can either disable remix for specific videos or entirely disable the feature for all your videos. Check out the steps for both options below.
⦁ Open any Reel video, click on vertical three dots menu, and tap on Disable Remixing.
⦁ Tap on Disable to confirm the change.
Disable Remix for All Reels
⦁ Open Settings in the Instagram app and head to Privacy.
⦁ Under the Privacy settings, you’ll see a ‘Reels’ option. Tap on it and disable the ‘Enable Remixing’ toggle to turn off the feature.
