Walmart, being one of the world’s biggest retailer recognize the importance of making several payment methods available with which customers can make payments conveniently. One such methods is the “Walmart Pay” which allows you to make a secure payment for purchases right from your mobile phone.
If you’re a regular shopper at Walmart, it is expedient that you know how to use the Walmart Pay, just to be covered in case your card isn’t available at some point. This article would explain what you need to know and how you can use your Walmart Pay on your android device.
The Walmart Mobile App
The Walmart Pay feature comes along with the Walmart Mobile App, Hence, you would need to download and install the Walmart App from the “Google Play Store” into your android device. After installing the app, proceed to log into the app with your Walmart account information.
If you don’t have a Walmart account yet, you can quickly go to your web browser and visit the Walmart.com page, follow the promptings for creating an account and create one. Another way to create a Walmart account is through the app. As you launch the Walmart app, tap on the “Menu” icon at the upper left corner of the screen, and tap on “Sign in”. Navigate to the bottom of the screen and click on “Create an Account”, Next, fill out the form and click on “Create account”.
If you just created an account, you can now log into the app using your newly created account details.

Accessing Walmart Pay
Navigate to “Services” or go to the home page on the Walmart app and navigate to “Walmart Pay” at the bottom of the page, tap on it. Next, tap on “Set up Walmart Pay “. Proceed to tap on “Add a card”, if you had previously connected the payment method to your Walmart account, simply tap on the addition icon and tap on “Add Credit or Debit Card”. Next, follow the instructions, and provide the necessary information to add your card, and when you’ve completed the steps, tap on the “Save” button. You can add a Gift Card, A master card, AMEX, Discover or VISA card, and can always change your primary payment method. Next tap on “Accept terms and conditions”.
After going through the tutorial, you can now proceed to tap on “Go to Walmart Pay”, type in your password, and proceed to create a pin that you would use for subsequent access to make payments.
Making Payments
After picking up the items you’ve shopped and you take them to the payment desk, you can easily pay through your Walmart Pay on your android using the QR code generated for your bill. To do this, open your Walmart App, navigate to Walmart Pay, and tap on it. Next, enter your Pin for Walmart Pay and your camera would be activated through the app. Simply place the camera above the QR code to be scanned. After the scan is complete, your card would be charged with the amount of your purchase and an email of your payment receipt would be sent.
PS – Instead of using a pin for your Walmart Pay, you can use the “Touch Identification” feature, for additional security.
